Sieveking, Annelie

Annelie Sieveking has been a research associate at the Faculty of Sustainability at Leuphana University of Lüneburg since 2015. She holds a M. Sc. in Sustainability Science and a B. A. in Political Science and Educational Science. Having a professional background in Education for Sustainable Development, her research focuses on the role of institutional settings, social innovations and societal values in the context of food system transitions.

As a member of the “Restructure” working group within the project “Leverage Points for Sustainability Transformation”, her current research focuses on institutional dynamics in sustainability transformation (law and governance) with an emphasis on Food Policy Councils.


Since 2015: Research associate and PhD student at Leuphana University of Lüneburg in the project “Leverage Points for Sustainability Transformation” (Working title of the doctoral thesis: “Food Policy Councils: Levers for Sustainability Transformation?”)

2015: Master´s degree in Sustainability Science (M. Sc.) from Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Thesis: “Social Ecology and Social Innovations in the Context of Food System Transitions”)

2012-2013: Bildungsreferentin (educational referent) of the project “Fair handeln – global und local” (act fairly – globally and locally) at la tienda e.V., Münster, funded by Stiftung Umwelt und Entwicklung NRW (foundation for the environment and development of North Rhine-Westphalia)

Since 2011: Freelance work in the field of Education for Sustainable Development for different non-profit-organisations (e.g. Eine Welt Netz Nordrhein-Westfalen, Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe, Multivision e.V.)

2011: Bachelor´s degree in Political Science and Educational Science (B. A.) from University of Münster (Thesis: “Possibilities and Limits of Civil Society Participation in the Implementation of International Education Initiatives”)
